Who we are. Newcastle under Lyme Islamic Centre (registered charity 1193202), Pilkington Avenue, Newcastle-under-Lyme ST5 3RE, is the data controller for information collected through this website. Contact us about your data at nulic2021@gmail.com.

What we collect and why. We only collect what we need to provide our services: details you give when you request a nikah, book a visit, register a child for the madrasa, send an enquiry or make a donation. For the madrasa we also keep attendance, progress and fee records, and any medical information you choose to give us so we can keep your child safe.

Lawful bases. We process your information to deliver the service you have asked for (contract), to meet legal obligations such as Gift Aid and charity accounting (legal obligation), for the safety of children in our care (vital interests and, for health information, with your explicit consent), and — where you have agreed — for photography and updates (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who can see it. Only authorised volunteers and staff who need it for their role: for example, teachers see only their own classes. Payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal; we never see your full card details. Website hosting and storage are provided by Amazon Web Services in the United Kingdom/EU. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

How long we keep it. Booking and enquiry details are deleted after 12 months. Madrasa records are kept while your child attends and for up to 2 years afterwards. Donation and Gift Aid records are kept for 6 years, as HMRC requires.

Cookies and analytics. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We count page visits anonymously, without cookies and without storing IP addresses. Signed-in administrators use a single essential cookie to stay logged in. Maps from Google are only loaded if you choose to show them.

Your rights. You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive a copy. Contact us at the address above. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
